Clean drinking water is the most important food for humans, and measures to ensure its healthiness and purity are therefore highly regulated by law. For instance, in the EU, the European drinking water directive defines purity requirements, cleanup and disinfection methods, and sampling and measurement intervals. This directive applies to water for human consumption, which has to meet minimum requirements regarding microbiological, chemical, and further indicator parameters, expressed in limit values.
To ensure effective treatment and the quality of drinking water produced, each step of the purification process must be monitored by reliable instrumentation using well-defined water quality parameters. The European Drinking Water Directive 98/83/EC, one of many water quality frameworks used worldwide, defines maximum permissible values for a wide range of parameters, among these microbial, chemical, and indicator parameters that must be analyzed regularly.
Labtex group LLC system solutions - HPLC, UHPLC, UPLC, LC-MS/MS, and GC/MS and columns, UV-Vis spectrometry , ICP-MS and software - are designed to meet the needs of the water quality chemist by accelerating throughput, enhancing sensitivity, increasing accuracy and ensuring compliance.
